Improving the Airline Experience to Maintain Competitive Edge
Overview
The airline industry has faced a turbulent time since 2020. Having been grounded by the pandemic, it had to rapidly rebuild services to meet the huge pent-up demand for global travel when the world reopened. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), passenger traffic is now at 90.5% of pre-Covid levels globally. Airlines are working to accommodate these growing passenger numbers and deliver a smooth travel experience despite continuing supply chain shortages, high inflation, changes in consumer behaviour, increased competition between carriers and other operational challenges.
This webinar hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with Infosys explored the changing commercial landscape in which airlines operate. It looked at how cloud and digital technologies can be applied to provide real-time information and offer personalised packages to fliers. The discussion considered how airlines can differentiate themselves in the face of fierce competition by providing a world-class experience.
